A flower in the garden

Love is his open ocean
of naked morning whispers.
Crazy
"Crazy,"
they whisper behind
my back
as I dance down the halls,
humming tunes
I've never heard,
speaking languages
I've never learned.
"Crazy,"
they call me.
But they'll never know,
they
are the
crazy ones,
not
me.
"Crazy,"
they say,
pushing me
out of their way
as they
kill
brothers,
fathers,
sisters,
loved ones.
"Crazy,"
they say,
and maybe
I am.
Is it crazy
to want
love
from the one
who doesn't
love me?
"Crazy."
I laugh,
I am
too far
gone
to care.
"Crazy,"
I say
to the pretty girl
in the water.
"They call me crazy."
She looks back
at me and
grins.
"Crazy."
I shiver.

The Garden
She sits in the wilderness,
weaving flowers into her hair,
reaching out to imaginary
butterflies
in her self-created
Garden of Eden.
The water beckons to her
and she heeds its call,
twirling, dancing, laughing.
It is here
in her imaginary paradise
where she is happiest.
Watching her reflection
in the clear water,
her smile disappears
for an instant.
Her mask slips away
to reveal
a girl,
heartbroken and
alone.
A second later,
her smile returns,
her mask firmly in place.
She sings
a melancholy song,
beginning her descent into the
murky waters
of her despair.
Her illusion shatters, and she

"Savior"
They come here,
guns blazing,
claiming to
"save" us from our
oppression.
Who are they trying to
save us
from?
We were happy before they came.
We were
HAPPY.
They destroy
our homes,
our families,
our
lives.
They wonder why
we are upset.
They try to change us.
Forcing upon us
freedoms
that we have
never had.
If freedom
is
bloodshed,
destruction, and
pain, then
I
don't
want it.
We want to be saved.
Yes.
We want
to be
saved
from
them.

Requiem for a Fallen Soldier
Requiem for a Fallen Soldier
He lies on the icy ground,
bloody, alone,
buried under piles of snow
until it appears as if he is just
another snowman,
plowed over
during the battle.
He lies there,
motionless,
forsaken,
Does no one see him?
My poor fallen soldier.
No one spares him a second glance.
He is still alive, but just barely.
Voice too parched to call for help,
limbs too frozen to move.
And so
he lies there,
waiting
for the
inevitable.
The night will pass
and morning will come.
Still, he will lie there,
bloody,
forgotten,
forsaken,
alone.
He lived, a boy,
fought, a boy.
But
he died,
a man,

Pain
It numbs me.
I see blood
all around.
Is it mine?
Cold
It lulls me.
I long
to sleep.
But I know
that if I do,
I will never
wake.
Fear
It consumes me.
Too young,
I am
too young.
What will become of my wife?
Despair
It scares me.
No one is coming.
No one is looking.
No one cares.
I am
alone.
Peace
It soothes me.
My time has come.
I die
for my country,
Yet my country
has forgotten me.

Destroyed by thorns was she

Strangers in an airport
Rush to find their destination
In a brief fleeting moment
Two individuals
Pause for a moment
For a brief fleeting moment
Eyes connect
And the world halts
In a brief fleeting moment
Don't blink
You'll miss it
That brief fleeting moment
Time never stops
Never ends
For a brief fleeting moment
Love is lost
Love is found
In a brief fleeting moment
Forgotten or not
It can last forever

The Gathering
"Come join us"
The birds of prey
Spread word
Of a hearty feast
Situated
In the middle
Of nowhere
"There's plenty to eat"
They coax,
Inviting friends, family
To the hearty feast
Situated
In the middle
Of nowhere
"You won't regret it"
They smile
A sickening sight
To the hearty feast
Situated
In the middle
Of nowhere
"Come join us"
And sure enough
More birds of prey flock
To the hearty feast
Situated

Of nowhere
"Come join us"
Naïve as they are,
No one
Hears their shrieks
At the hearty feast
Situated
In the middle

It's 2007. Another year come and gone. Wow. WOW.
I wasn't going to make a resolution...but I guess I'll go ahead and make the obligatory "succeed in school" one. Junior year sucks. Exams, homework, all that...it's driving me insane.
Hope everyone had a safe and merry new year's!
Got back from the cruise last night around 11 PM. I am exhausted. I got so used to the ship rocking that I feel like the house is moving.
The cruise was amazing. AMAZING. We went on the Carnival Fantasy ship and it was incredible! The service was great; the people were sooo nice and very accommodating.
I'm so tan. I sat outside on deck with a book and just tanned the entire day. It was great. So relaxing.
Food was amazing! There was so much of it though! Soooooo much.
Cozumel was great! We went on a 5 mile hike and I got about 35 mosquito bites. And then I got a swollen ankle. Eew.
Home now. Back to reality. Gotta do home
One more day. Less than 24 hours. I will soon be on the cruise ship. I cannot wait! I'm so excited!!!
School's gonna be a blowoff tomorrow. The only class I'm actually going to do anything in is physics. We're starting a new chapter. Figures.
Soooo happy!
